Thousands of public sector workers took to the streets of Turkey this week as protests grew against the government of Prime Minister Erdogan. Two major trade union groups called a two day strike in support of protestors who have been attacked by riot police with tear gas and water cannon after they occupied Taksim Square in Istanbul. The protestors want the authoritarian government of Erdogan to resign.
