UNEMPLOYMENT FALLS FOR THE FOURTH CONSECUTIVE MONTH IN CASARES

Unemployment has dropped for the fourth consecutive month in Casares, Manilva and Estepona. The number of jobless in Casares last month was 486, that's 18 less than at the same time last year. In Manilva there were 30 less people out of work last month, with a total of 1,447. And in Estepona there were 375 less people signing on the dole, bringing the total to 7,578 which is 262 less than in May last year. The drop in the jobless figures is being put down to extra hirings as the tourist season gets into full swing. In Spain as a whole the number out of work fell by more than  98,000 last month. However there are still 4.9 million unemployed , leaving Spain with the highest unemployment in the EU after Greece.
