The crisis in Turkey continued this week as riot police cleared protestors from Taksim Square with tear gas and water cannon. The opposition movement which has grown up around protests in the square against Prime Minister Erdogan’s Government has vowed to continue its protests. The Turkish Government has said it might hold a referendum on the future of the square, the issue that sparked the opposition protests in the first place.
