CASARES FEATURES IN NEW EXHIBITION ON THE CIVIL WAR AND DICTATORSHIP IN MALAGA PROVINCE

Casares Town Hall is helping in the launch a new exhibition on the history of the Civil War and the Dictatorship in Malaga province.  The exhibition was launched by the Delegate of the Andalucian Government Jose Luis Ruiz Espejo and the Director General of the Democratic Memory Luis Gabriel Naranjo in the presence of regional representatives, including Casares Councillor Pepe Carrasco. The exhibition has 47 documents and 51 exhibits and is aimed at furthering the understanding of the Civil War and the years of the Franco dictatorship in Malaga province. The project has been supported by town councils and associations throughout the province. The Government Delegate said it was important to remember these events not for revenge but to honour the memories and to continue the fight for justice, equality and democracy.
