CASARES CELEBRATES THE LAST FERIA OF THE SUMMER THIS WEEKEND

Casares celebrates the last of the summer ferias this weekend with the Feria del Santo Cristo. This is one of the most popular ferias for Casarenos and it has its toots in the pagan festivals which marked the cycles of harvest in the countryside. The Feria del Santo Cristo will see lots of activities in the town, with the highlight being the Procession of Santo Cristo which starts at 9 o' clock tomorrow evening from the Church of the Incarnation. The procession will be accompanied by the band of Benaojan. During the three days of the festival there will be dancing with two orchestras , the La Cala in the Plaza de Espana and the Dynamic Orchestra in the Paseo de la Carrera. On Sunday there will be free paella and a flamenco show in the youth hostel. There will also be two nights of concerts at the Pub La Fuente starting at 12.30 am. Councillor Sonia Saborido has invited everyone in Casares and visitors from outside to come and enjoy the Santo Cristo Feria this weekend.
