BRITS TOP THE LEAGUE IN TOURIST NUMBERS TO CASARES THIS SUMMER
The Brits
have topped the tourist league in Casares this summer. Figures released this
week show that the museums in Casares received over 1,800 visits this summer,
with the British coming in at number one with 41 per cent, and the Spanish in
second place with 37 per cent. They were followed by the French and the
Germans. The best month was July with 773 visits to the Blas Infante birthplace
and cultural centre and 614 visits to the Puerto de Ronda Tourist Centre, which
is managed by Ecotour Casares. A total of 1,528 people visited the centre in
the months of June, July and August. The Blas Infante birthplace received over
1,000 visitors in the summer months. However the Tourism Council has pointed
out that the figures do not reflect the real level of tourism as many visitors
do not record their trips to the tourist centres.
