CASARES TOWN HALL APPROVES 10 MILLION EURO BUDGET FOR 2013

The Town Hall has given its approval to this years’s budget. The total budget will be 10.4 million Euro which falls short of the expected 12 million Euro. That figure has been cut because of the spending cuts and the budgetary laws. However, Mayor Antonia Morera has said that there will be no staff cuts and no cuts to services for residents. There will also be extra contracts tendered by the local authority this year, with 120 available, compared to 90 last year. The budget estimates also include areas which are not strictly the jurisdiction of the local authority, such as health and education. The budget estimates were approved by the ruling United Left (IU) team, and the opposition Peoples Party (PP) and PSOE voted against the plan.
