RADIO CASARES HOSTS SPECIAL ELECTION DEBATE LIVE ON AIR

Radio Casares hosted a special election debate yesterday. The event saw representatives of the different political parties seeking votes come on air to present their platforms and to debate the issues before voting take place on Sunday for the Andalucian parliament. The snap regional election was called in January and over six million voters will go to the polls to elect 109 representatives in the regional parliament. The parliament will decide on the President of the Regional Government. Voters cast their votes using the proportional representation system in a secret ballot. The Socialist Party has dominated the regional parliament since voting for the body began in 1982. Radio Casares has been carrying interviews with the prospective candidates daily on morning show La Voz de la Mañana.

RADIO CASARES GEARS UP FOR ITS COVERAGE OF THE ANDALUCIAN ELECTIONS

Radio Casares has started its special coverage of the regional elections in Andalucia. This week representatives of the different political parties seeking votes have been interviewed about their electoral platforms. A special election debate will be held on air on March 19th. The election coverage has been agreed by the different political parties with the agreement of communications councillor Juan Luis Villalon. Each day there will be an election chronicle which will report on the events and activities involved in the run up to the elections. There will also be in depth interviews daily with representatives of the different parties where they will outline their policies. These interviews will be broadcast on the morning show La Voz de la Mañana between 11.30 and 12 noon. The climax of the election coverage will be next Thursday’s special on air debate.

RADIO CASARES PRESENTED WITH MAJOR AWARD IN SEVILLE

The staff from Radio Casares travelled to Seville yesterday to receive the first prize for local audiovisual communications in Andalucia presented by the Junta de Andalucia.  The award was given to La Voz de la Mañana, the magazine programme presented by Radio Casares journalist Camino Dominguez. The programme which features the voices of the residents of Casares was named the best local entertainment programme on radio. The staff of Radio Casares, along with Mayor Antonia Morera and communications councillor Juan Luis Villalon collected the award at the ceremony in Seville. Camino’s programme, La Voz de la mañana, won because of the high quality of its content and its commitment to promoting free speech for locals, not to mention issues such as the environment, unemployment and education. This is the fourth prize won by the Radio Casares team and is richly deserved.

RADIO CASARES STARTS NEW LOCAL SERVICE AVAILABLE ON YOU TUBE

Radio Casares is expanding its local news coverage by providing a new service on Youtube. Videos will be available from today with all the relevant news events in Casares. The service covered the Festival of New Andalucian cinema, the closing ceremony and the award winners. The Youtube videos can be accessed on all compatible electronic devices such as computers, tablets and smart phones. Each video will last no more than five minutes. Stories that will be covered will include the ferias in Casares and Secadero, the 24 hours sports events and the Espileta Sound Festival. The new service is part of the expanded coverage of local news provided by Radio Casares and has the collaboration of a professional camera operator and image editor.

RADIO CASARES IS NUMBER ONE FOR PROGRAMMES IN ANDALUCIA

Radio Casares has been rated number one among local radio stations in Andalucia for its programming and content. The ranking came after Radio Casares was already ranked number two in the IRSCOM survey. In the latest survey carried out by COMandulcia based at the Faculty of Communications Sciences at Malaga university, Radio Casares was voted number one for its programmes and content. Radio Casares has beaten competitors in over 130 local public radio stations in Andalucia, an achievement based on hard work and commitment.

RADIO CASARES IS THE NUMBER TWO AMONG LOCAL RADIO STATIONS IN ANDALUCIA

Radio Casares has been rated number two in a professional survey of local public radio stations in Andalucia. The IRSCOM index rated Radio Casares behind Radio Guadalquivir in Seville province and ahead of Radio Onda Marina in Cordoba in the inflential survey. The research was carried out by a group at the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the University of Malaga. It found that more than  two thousand people are involved in local public broadcasting in Andalucia and that there are over four hundred people employed in more than 130 local radio stations. The Communications Councillor in Casares Juan Luis Villalon said the study showed the importance of local public radio not only in reporting local issues but also in building bridges within the community and promoting cultural and social values. The Director of Radio Casares Ana Gonzalez-Deleito said that being the second highest rated radio station was a very positive reflection of the work carried out at the station. She said that Radio Casares is committed to  fully inclusive broadcasting , and that every section of civic society is represented in the station's programming.
