A programme produced by Radio Casares has won the prestigious Luis Portero award. The programme Donate Life produced by Maria Valadez was broadcast in January 2012 as part of the La Botika programme on Radio Casares. It won the award for raising awareness of organ donation and transplantation and the documentary featured interviews with different people involved in these processes.Communication councillor Juan Luis Villalon congratulated the producer and the staff at Radio Casares for winning such a prestigious award and said it highlighted the work of public broadcasting.
