HISTORIC CAVE DISCOVERED AT THE SIERRA DE LA UTRERA IN CASARES
A new archaeological site
has been found at the Sierra de la Utrera in Casares. The large cave has been
closed to allow proper study of the area by archaeologists. A team from the
“Arqueomania” television programme visited the site last Saturday along with
members of the Casares governing body. The cave is being investigated by teams
of archaeologists from the Universities of Malaga and Cordoba. They believe the
site may contain material of great historical and geological value. Councillor
Pepe Carrasco said the site could be a valuable addition to tourism for
Casares.
