NEW PUBLIC SPACE FACILITIES FOR CASARES COSTA

The second phase of the new public space at the Majestic development is close to completion with the opening of a new mini golf area and playground. The project will provide a widening of the Jardines del Rosario and job opportunities. Casares Costa councillor Antonia Pineda said the new green area will include a sports court, a baseball court and two petanca courts. The development of the public space will also include new walking trails with picnic tables and benches and a new dog park where locals can play and train their pets.

CASARES PUBLIC LIBRARY BRINGS IN NEW RULES FOR ELECTRONIC BOOKS

The public library in Casares has ceased supplying electronic books but  users can now access them from their own electronic devices. The library already has an arrangement with EbiblioAndalucia to provide the service. Anyone interested in using the service must register at the library where they will be given the access codes to download digital books. The digitial books can be accessed via computers, tablets and mobile phone and e books. Culture Counciilor Sonia Saborido said that the use of e books encourages reading among the general public. Users will be able to borrow two books for a maximum of 21 days but can renew the loan period.

PUBLIC HOUSING AT CASARES

Seven new families from Casares have been given access to public housing at Calle Villa and five apartments in Puerto de la Cruz. Those being housed in the apartments have the option in the future of buying them.

SIX MORE UNEMPLOYED RECRUITED BY THE TOWN HALL FOR PUBLIC WORKS







Six more unemployed people have been hired by the Town Hall in Casares to carry out public works. Two will take part in cleaning services while a bricklayer will work in a housing rehabilitation programme. The initial contract is for three months which can be extended by another three months. Casares Mayor Antonia Morera said the latest hirings are part of the governing team’s priority to help create jobs and reduce unemployment.
