The deadline for applications for the 20 per cent IBI reduction ends in Casares tomorrow.

The municipal offices will be open in the afternoon in  Casares, Casares Costa and Secadero to allow residents to submit their applications. Last year the IBI subsidy was worth over 155.000 Euro.

DEADLINE FOR IBI GRANT APPLICATIONS IS APPROACHING

The deadline for applications for this year’s IBI subsidy is May 16th. This is the second year that the ayuntamiento has subsidised IBI payments for residents and businesses. Applicants must furnish a copy of their last IBI receipt and proof of identity. The Ayuntamiento  has scheduled special opening hours at local offices to allow applications to be made. These are from 8 o’ clock in the morning until 3 in the afternoon and from 4.30 to 7.30 pm on Monday to Friday and from 10 until 2 on Saturday. Applicants must ensure that they have no money owing to the ayuntamiento and provide proof of residency. Last year almost 155,000 Euro was given in IBI subsidies and 1,455 families benefited with an average saving of 106 Euro for every IBI bill.

CASARES SPENT 154,000 EURO IN IBI SUBSIDY FOR 1,500 FAMILIES

The special IBI subsidy brought in by Casares has benefited 1,500 local families and cost the Town Hall 154,000 Euro. Each family that successfully applied for the subsidy benefited to the tune of 106 Euro on average.Business councillor Juan Jesus Rodriguez said that the subsidy was brought in to help less well off families. The grant was for 20 per cent of the total IBI bill up to a maximum of 200 Euro. Councillor Rodriguez said the total cost to the council of over 154,000 Euro had not affected municipal services. Local residents have also benefited from a 15 per cent reduction in the catastral value of their property.

MORE THAN ONE THOUSAND FAMILIES IN CASARES BENEFIT FROM THE IBI SUBSIDY

More than 1,000 families in Casares have benefited from the reduction in IBI brought in by the Ayuntamiento. There are ten days left for families to apply for the IBI reduction. 1,140 families successfully applied for the reduced IBI which Casares has subsidised to the tune of 115,00 Euro. Councillor Juan Jesus Rodriguez said that there is still time for homeowners to apply for the reduced rate. The measure was brought in to help poorer families and small and medium businesses. Councillor Rodriguez has pointed out that the government team was able to reduce the IBI bill for many people without any loss of services provided by the Town Hall. The IBI subsidy coincides with a 15 per cent drop in the assessed value of property in the Casares area.

INFORMATIVE NOTE: IBI TAX DISCOUNT

Casares Town Council, with the agreement of all the political groups, has decided to reduce the tax burden on our neighbours, this is a fully responsible measure which makes sustainable the services provided by the local administration.

The political agreement and the work done by all the members of the Council make possible that these initiatives belong to all the political groups and finally to the Town Council as an institution, ensuring them a long duration.

The measures encouraged by the Town Council are two, supplementary to other subsidies already announced by Diputación: 

1.- 15% reduction of the property value on all the bills in Casares. According to the different patterns which have been studied it freezes the expected rise on our bills on 2014.

2.- 20% discount (Max 200 €), by request, of all the bills of the houses used as first home by registered neighbours (empadronados), as well as businesses which pay the IAE tax in our town, or garages whose owners pay the car tax in Casares. Besides the payments of those bills should be done by direct debit and the owner must not have debts to the Town Council.
