EL SECADERO FERIA GOT UNDERWAY YESTERDAY AND CONTINUES UNTIL SUNDAY

El Secadero Feria started yesterday and will continue until Sunday with a variety of activities for all age groups. The official opening ceremony began with the traditional parade of floats that accompanied the procession of the court of honour. The parade left the sports centre at eight o’ clock accompanied by a brass band and the coronation of the court of honour was held at 10.30. Other activities lined up for the weekend include the the Gato Negro orchestra, the dance school festival today, and the traditional feria lunch tomorrow and Sunday. The Deputy Mayor of Secadero Juan Luis Villalon said that he expects a large influx of visitors from  all over for the feria.

And now some news in brief:

Work has begun on a new urban trial in El Secadero. The work involves the trimming  of foliage and cleaning of land to create a pedestrian walkway through the area. The work was voted for by citizens in a recent poll in the area.

Voting Citizens

The neighbours from Casares will decide which works they prefer to be done. Votes can be casted on friday march 22, 10 to 14 h and from 17 to 19 hours.

The polls are installed in the Plaza España in Casares, in the Plaza of Paz in Secadero, and in the town hall in Casares Costa.

The proposed works which are in the historical district are: the second phase of multipurpose room, which will host the youth house and the dance school, Llano improving power, and the renovation of the Arenales.

El Secadero: The creation of a trail urban, expansion sotocolorado park, or shadow facility in Peace Plaza.

Neighbours of Casares Costa will can choose between the first phase of the City Nursery, multipurpose hall in "Casares Del Sol", and the provision of an area of shadow on the beach.

RAINSTORMS CAUSED MAJOR PROBLEMS FOR MOBILE PHONES

The recent heavy rains have been causing major problems for mobile phones in the area. The Mayor’s office in Secadero has complained to the Ministry of the Economy, Innovation and Science (Andalusia government) about the lack of mobile phone coverage. The office has sent a letter claiming that many customers have been without coverage on their networks since the rainstorm of February 27th. The Mayor’s office wants the Ministry to tell Movistar and Vodafone to carry out the necessary work to restore mobile coverage to residents of the area.
