Two Spanish teams made it through to the semi finals of the Champions League this week. Real Madrid secured their position with a one nil win over Atletico Madrid, while Barcelona clinched their slot with a two nil victory over Paris Saint Germain. The other teams through to the semi finals are Bayern Munich and Juventus who reach their first semi final in over a decade.

In the Champions League Manchester City made a dramatic comeback to beat Bayern Munich by three goals to two to keep their hopes of getting through to the final stages. Meanwhile Lionel Messi scored a hat trick for  Barcelona and set a new record for the Champions League with 74 goals.

It was a bad week for English teams in the Champions League with Liverpool losing 1 - 0 to Real Madrid and Manchester City crashing out to a 2 - 1 defeat against CSKA Moscow. The Manchester team are now at the bottom of their group after failing to score a victory in Europe this season.
