Preparations are well underway for next week’s Holy Week activities in
Casares. In total there will be four processions during the week, beginning
with the traditional Palm Sunday procession from the Iglesia del Llano.
On Tuesday there will be the procession of the Christ of Medinaceli through
the streets of Casares. The marking of Holy Week continues on Thursday and on
Good Friday there will be the procession of the Lady of Sorrows and the Holy
Sepulchre accompanied by a band.
On Easter Sunday the events of Holy Week will culminate with the procession
of the Risen Christ and the Virgin of Sorrows. The Holy Week activities are a
great attraction for locals and foreign visitors alike.
