BRITON ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED MURDER OF GERMAN MAN IN SOTOGRANDE RESTAURANT

A British man has been arrested after the murder of a German resident of Sotogrande at a popular restaurant in the resort on Saturday night. 40 year old Victor Kainth is being held at Algeciras while police investigate the death. 43 year old German resident Sandro Rottman was allegedly punched in the head by the Briton after the father of three caught him taking photos of his young daughter on an I Pad. Witnesses reported that Kainth threw the I Pad to the ground and punched the German once in the head. The victim collapsed to the ground and Kainth continued to kick and punch him before leaving the Spinnaker restaurant. Rotten was taken to hospital in Linea but was pronounced dead on arrival. Police later arrested Kainth at his home in Sotogrande.It has been reported that Rottman was arrested last month for possession of child pornography.

 A new unit to treat women with breast cancer has opened in Malaga. The unit has been launched by the Costa del Sol Health Agency and provides care for 600 women on the Costa del Sol.

CASARES JOINS CAMPAIGN FOR NEW HOSPITAL

The three local authorities in Casares, Manilva and Estepona have joined forces to campaign for a new hospital in Arroyo Vaquero. Casares Health councillor Pedro Gonzalez explained this week that the Town Hall is joining a petition of the Estepona area seeking a meeting with the Health Councillor for the Andalucian Government to demand better health services for the western Costa del Sol. The campaign for new district hospital at Arroyo Vaquero is being supported by the trade unions and political parties. The construction of a new hospital facility has been promised since 2007 but has been suspended because of the economic cutbacks.
