Casares Town Hall has joined forces with Istan and
Ojen to oppose the proposed changes in the commonwealth laws of the Costa del
Sol. The governing teams of the three towns met this week along with United
Left provincial leaders to work out a campaign against the proposed changes
which will allow bigger population centres to have more powers and decision
making. The United Left is against the Partido Popular proposal to increase the
number of representatives from the current 22 to 39. Casares Mayor Antonia
Morera said that issues other than population should be taken into account in
the commonwealth laws and this is also the views of the mayors of Istan and
Ojen.
