Britain's first
woman Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher died at the age of 87 on Monday. The
controversial Conservative politician was Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990 and
during her time in office she saw off challenges by the trades unions to
industrial reform and also recaptured the Falkland Islands following the
Argentinian invasion in 1982. She will be buried with full ceremonial honours
next Wednesday.
