UNEMPLOYMENT DROPS AGAIN IN CASARES LAST MONTH

Unemployment fell again in Casares in May, bringing the jobless figure to the lowest since 2011. The figures for last month show that there are currently 429 people out of work in the town, that’s 57 less than a year ago. Unemployment has now fallen by 5 per cent since April. The figures show that throughout the Costa del Sol the jobless figures are falling. In Manilva it has dropped by 7 per cent, followed by Casares, Estecona and Gaucin where the number out of work has fallen by 5 per cent. In  Malaga province the jobless figure has declined by 1.7 per cent, in Andalusia by 0.8 per cent and in Spain as a whole by 2.5 per cent. In Malaga province the decline in the jobless figures is attributed to increasing work in the services and tourism sectors as well as the growth of the construction sector again.  However unions have pointed out that while short term unemployment is falling, the longer term unemployed are still without benefits.
