The United States has called for the immediate rescue of thousands of migrants adrift in south east Asian seas after fleeing from Burma and Bangladesh. More than 3,000 migrants have already landed in Indonesia and Malaysia and it’s estimated that a further two and half thousand are still adrift in boats. The crisis erupted earlier this month after a crackdown by Thailand on people smuggling camps along its border with Malaysia.
