The family of Lucas, the local Casares boy who suffers from a rare disease,
have thanked the people of Casares for all their work to raise funds for his
treatment. The 5 year old son a local police officer suffer from Klippel
Trenaunay and requires surgery to save his leg and to prevent serious
health complications.
Because he is not covered for the expensive treatment by either Social
Security or private health insurance, his family have toi raise the money
themselves. To date over 29,000 Euro has been raised for Lucas from charitable
events in Casares, Secadero, Mijas and Fuengirola.
However Lucas still needs several more operations and his father said
he is improving because of the good work on the medical team looking after him.
