Mayor Antonia Morera this
week signed 24 new contracts for the new Blas Infante employment
workshop. Students will be trained in two modules, one for theatrical costumes
and the second for tourism. They will receive payment for one year in the
workshop and each module will take ten unemployed people off the dole. Nora
Gagera is the director of the workshop. and the council has also hired
two monitors, and a general education teacher. It is hoped the workshop will
lay the basis for long term employment for its participants.
